4 Day Break

• Day 1 – We arrive in the Düsseldorf area for three nights.
• Day 2 – Cologne (included). We visit Cologne and its Christmas markets, joining in the atmosphere at the Old Market and the numerous stalls around the cathedral. B
• Day 3 – Düsseldorf (included). Düsseldorf has a very special fragrance, with mulled red wine, cinnamon cakes, gingerbread and beeswax lingering in the city centre. The chestnut trees on Königsallee glitter with a thousand lights. From the end of November to Christmas, the Christmas markets in the old town and on Schadowplatz transform Düsseldorf's centre into a Christmas wonderland, attracting thousands of visitors every year. B
• Day 4 – We journey to Calais then return home. B

PLEASE NOTE: The christmas markets of Cologne are unlikely to be open for the 20th November departures as they normally commence in the last week of November. As a result on the second day of your holiday we will visit Cologne in the morning for you to see the superb Cathedral, stroll on the Rhineside promenade or visit the shopping areas around the Hohe Strasse, the Schildergasse and the Ehrenstrasse with their elegant department stores and boutiques. Then in the afternoon we drive to nearby Aachen to visit the superb Christmas market in the city centre where the streets and alleys are transformed into a festive paradise of lights and colour.
