Your Holiday Itinerary

5 Day Break

  • Day 1 – Door-to-door departure and drive to Bonn to join your cruise ship, the ‘M.S. Prinses Juliana’. L,S
  • Day 2 – Koblenz (included) and Moselle Valley (optional) We cruise to Koblenz, situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle. Why not join our optional coach excursion along the meandering Moselle Valley, visiting the riverside village of Alken, where you’ll enjoy winetasting at the popular House of Anton Hammes (Please note: this excursion may not be available for customers joining by air). We return to Koblenz for time at leisure to enjoy the festive spirit of the Christmas market, before rejoining our ship. B,L,D
  • Day 3 – Rüdesheim (includedl). Enjoy breakfast as we cruise through the scenic beauty of the Rhine Gorge. We pass the huge Loreley Rock amidst a landscape of dormant vineyards and ancient medieval fortresses, to later reach the town of Rüdesheim, home of the bustling Drosselgasse, lined with traditional German bars and shops. Enjoy an optional visit to the fascinating Siegfried’s Mechanical Museum with its collection of self-playing instruments dating back through the ages. Following the visit enjoy a glass of Glühwein and get to keep the special mug. Enjoy dinner on board ship. B,L,D
  • Day 4 – Cologne (included) We cruise this morning to Cologne, arriving in the afternoon. It’s the start of the Christmas markets in this great cathedral city, which celebrates the Advent period in style. See the market on the Roncalliplatz, alongside the fashionable Dom Hotel and in front of the cathedral, with its fine Christmas tree. Stroll down to the Old Market and perhaps visit the markets on the Neumarkt and at aptly named Rudolfplatz. Buy unusual presents to take home for Christmas, including jade jewellery, candles, wooden toys and goods, chocolate items – the list is endless; and the nice part about it is that everything has that certain continental flair. If the weather is chilly, enter into the spirit with a glass of mulled wine, or Glühwein as the Germans call it, and snack on local delicacies such as fried sausage (Bratwurst), chocolate covered nuts, sweet delicacies or even delicious goose fat on bread! As well as the markets, you can explore the excellent shops in the Hohestrasse area, or visit the bistros on the Rhine Promenade in the Old Town. Enjoy our final dinner on board ship. B,L,D
  • Day 5 – Return to the UK by coach from Cologne, then via our door-to-door service to your home. B
