12-Day Break

  • Day 1 –To Belgium for an overnight stay.
  • Day 2 – To Italy and Lake Garda for a 2-night stay. B,D
  • Day 3 – Lake Garda Tour (optional). Enjoy the fabulous scenery and atmosphere of Lake Garda from the mountain scenery in the north to the gentler plains in the south. We see the pretty fishing villages and small townships which are dotted around the shores and also take a boat from Sirmione to Gardone, on the way passing the private island of Garda, with its Venetian villa. B,D
  • Day 4 – Lucca (included). No visit to Tuscany would be complete without seeing the lovely old town of Lucca, with its medieval buildings, 12th-century cathedral and narrow streets and lanes. B,D
  • Day 5 – Florence (included). Rich in the culture of the Renaissance, Florence’s fine art and architecture is outstanding. Our optional sightseeing tour with local guide will show you many sights, including the Cathedral, the Palazzo Vecchio and Florence’s oldest bridge, the Ponte Vecchio. B,D
  • Day 6 – Pisa (optional). Morning visit to nearby Pisa with guided tour, where you will be amazed how the famous Leaning Tower still manages to stay (nearly) upright (entrance not included). B,D
  • Day 7 – To Chianciano Terme for a 3-night stay, visiting San Gimignano (included). With its famous skyline dominated by thirteen towers, it is easy to imagine the wealth of the rival noble families responsible for their construction in the Middle Ages. Explore the Piazzas and for some great shopping try the Via San Giovanni. We are in the heart of a superb wine-producing area and during the day you can taste the local specialities at an optional winetasting. B,D
  • Day 8 – Lake Trasimeno and Assisi (optional). Drive along the shores of this tranquil lake, to Assisi. See the famous basilica of St. Francis, where the Saint is buried, and also Piazza del Comune, with its preserved Roman temple front. B,D
  • Day 9 – Rome (included). “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” Our optional sightseeing tour by coach and on foot is a fantastic way to introduce you to the spectacular sights, including, amongst others, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum, before enjoying free time to explore alone. B,D
  • Day 10 – Siena (included). With its proud hill, dominating the skyline below, Siena has the most attractive piazza in the country, the Piazza del Campo, once the site of a Roman Forum.
