Your Holiday Itinerary for 2009

14-Day Break

  • Day 1 – Door-to-door departure and then to northern France for an overnight stay.
  • Day 2 – To the Lake Como area for one night. B
  • Day 3 – To Pisa then Montecatini, Tuscany, for an overnight stay. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Pisa (included). See the famous leaning tower. Join an optional sightseeing tour and explore the tower’s immediate location, the Piazza dei Miracoli.
  • Day 4 – To the Sorrento peninsula for a 7-night stay. B,D
  • Day 5 – Sorrento and Coastal Villages. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Sorrento and Coastal Villages (included). A day of exploring, as we drive through hills, valleys, mountains and terraces lined with citrus trees, olive groves and vineyards, all descending towards the sea.
  • Day 6 – Sorrento B,D
  • Day 7 – Pompeii and Vesuvius. B
  • Excursions & Visits – Pompeii and Vesuvius (optional). The city was destroyed by the erupting Vesuvius in 79AD, but amazing relics of its past are preserved in the ruins. We then travel up Mount Vesuvius to 3000ft, where you have the option to continue on foot to the crater (please note that there is a local charge of approximately €6.50 to visit the crater).
  • Day 8 – Isle of Capri. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Isle of Capri (optional). Home to many of the rich and famous, see the most fabulous Mediterranean scenery here. We sail across the Bay of Naples, enjoying cliff-top views, with Mount Vesuvius in the distance.
  • Day 9 – Amalfi Drive. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Amalfi Drive (optional). ‘The most spectacular road in Europe’! We visit the lovely cathedral and the hillside town of Ravello – 350 metres above sea level.
  • Day 10 – Sorrento. B,D
  • Day 11 – To Rome then overnight in Chianciano. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Rome (included). Explore the palaces and piazzas of the former Roman Empire’s capital, including the Vatican, St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Sistine Chapel and the Piazza Venezia. There’s an optional guided sightseeing tour by coach and on foot that also covers the Trevi Fountain and Rome’s greatest amphitheatre – the Colosseum.
  • Day 12 – To Vipiteno, Italy, then overnight in Austria. B,D
  • Excursions & Visits – Vipiteno (included). Vipiteno, in the Italian Alps, is a modern shopping haven and is rich in tradition and natural beauty, and showcases a host of historical monuments and cultural delights.
  • Day 13 – To Belgium for an overnight stay B
  • Day 14 – To Calais then home via our door-to-door service. B

14-Day Break

  • Day 12 – To Vipiteno (included) and then Austria for an overnight stay. Vipiteno, a modern shopping haven is rich in tradition and natural beauty, and showcases a host of historical monuments and cultural delights. B,D
  • Day 13 – During our journey home, we spend a night in Belgium. B
  • Day 14 – Journey to Calais then return home via our door-to-door service. B
