The collections of the Villa Borghese

The Borghese Gallery is one of Rome most prestigious museums. A Renaissance villa built in the heart of a magnificent park, it contains a world-class collection of statues, including some of Bernini’s most famous works, such as The Rape of Proserpina. The second floor is devoted to painting, and here we discover dramatic paintings by Caravaggio, as well as marvellous works by Raphael and Titian. Without doubt, this is one of the most memorable museums to see during a visit to Rome.
