Your Holiday Itinerary

7-Day Break

• Day 1 – Express overnight journey to Italy.
• Day 2 – We arrive in Fiuggi in the afternoon for a four-night stay.
• Day 3 – Pompeii and Montecassino (optional, included on Silver Service). Join us as we visit the monastery of Montecassino. It was destroyed during WW2 then rebuilt. We then continue to Pompeii; in 79AD the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the town in a suffocating layer of stones and ash (entrance to the ruins is extra). Join our Pompeii guided Sightseeing tour (optional), with expert guide for a fascinating tour of the ruins. B
• Day 4 – Rome (included). Today we discover the 'eternal city' with some time at leisure. A lovely place to explore on foot, our guided walking tour (optional) is a fantastic way to introduce the city's spectacular sites, including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Piazza Venezia and the grand Colosseum. B
• Day 5 – Sorrento (optional) or Capri (optional). We travel to Sorrento, one of the most popular resorts on the Neapolitan Riviera. Pick up some souvenirs from the shops and stalls, or enjoy some Italian cuisine in one of the many trattoria. Alternatively, you can join our optional visit to Capri. Visit the town’s main square, the ‘Piazza Umberto’, and the gardens of Augustus, which overlook the Faraglioni Rocks. Enjoy the views across the Marina Piccola. A guided tour of the island is also included. B
• Day 6 – Today we enjoy some free time in Fiuggi to relax and enjoy the surroundings, before leaving for our express overnight journey home. B
• Day 7 – We travel to Calais and onward home.

9-Day Break

• Days 1-5 – As seven-day tour.
• Day 6 – Rome (9-day tour only) (included). Another visit to Rome, giving you the chance to join our optional Vatican and the Sistine Chapel tour. Escorted by a local guide, you will see the awe-inspiring frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, including Michelangelo’s famous chapel ceiling. B
• Day 7 – Ostia Antica (9-day tour only) (optional). The fall of Rome and spread of malaria resulted in the abandonment of the city of Ostia, which was eventually buried (but preserved) beneath mud and sand. Many now regard it as superior to Pompeii in its archaeological Roman remains. B
• Days 8-9 – As per day 6-7 on seven-day tour.
