Little-known Dorsoduro and Tiepolo

The Dorsoduro quarter is a distance away from touristy Venice, and so it has remained a vibrant and picturesque neighbourhood where the visitor will be able to feel the heartbeat of contemporary Venetian life. On this walk we discover Dorsoduro’s western side with its streets, alleys and squares – both large and small. We also see Veronese’s final painting and visit the Scuola Grande dei Carmini with its superb collection of works by Tiepolo.

Saint Mark’s basilica is the quintessential symbol of the Venetian empire, and we offer two separate visits. This one takes you on a discovery tour of the exterior of the famous basilica, with descriptions of its style and its famous mosaics.
