Your Holiday Itinerary
10-Day Break
- Day 1 – Fly to Milan where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the Milan or Brescia area.
- Day 2 – Siena (included). No visit to Italy is complete without seeing this beautiful city. The Piazza del Campo is perhaps the most attractive in Italy. Explore the square, see the famous Duomo or cathedral, again one of Italy’s finest, and admire the view from the Facciatone or “big façade”. Then we travel to Chianciano Terme for a 3-night stay. B,D
- Day 3 – Assisi (optional). Famed for its close association with St. Francis, the famous Basilica, where St. Francis is buried, really is a must-see and is one of the greatest Christian shrines in the world. B,D
- Day 4 – Rome (included). A day south to the ‘eternal’ city. An optional guided tour by coach and on foot is a fantastic way to introduce the spectacular sites and the ambience of this former capital of the Roman Empire, including the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. B,D
- Day 5 – Florence (included). Steeped in the culture of the Renaissance, Florence’s fine art and architecture is astounding. Our optional guided sightseeing tour begins at Piazza Michelangelo for a panoramic view over the city. In the centre we continue on foot. Admire the ornate Cathedral and the Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria, stroll across Florence’s oldest bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, and discover much more about this popular Tuscan city. Then we travel to Montecatini Terme for the night. B,D
- Day 6 – Pisa & Lucca (included). To Pisa, where the famous Leaning Tower seems to defy gravity. Explore the so called ‘Field of Miracles’ where time seems almost to have stood still since the 12th century, with all the cream stone edifices almost gleaming in the calm light. On to Lucca, which, despite its imposing Renaissance walls, retains the layout founded by the former Roman colony in 180BC. B,D
- Day 7 – Verona (included). This ‘classical’ city is home to a wealth of historic buildings, including the mighty Roman Arena (now used for opera) and Juliet’s balcony. Join our optional sightseeing tour to reveal the history of this magnificent city. There will also be time to browse the shops or take a coffee break in one of the many cafés in Piazza Bra overlooking the Arena. B,D
- Day 8 – Venice (optional). The magnificent buildings, surrounded by bridges and canals, are a sign of the city’s former (and continued) wealth and prosperity. See the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square, the Doges’ Palace and stroll through the town to the Rialto Bridge. Join our optional Venice Lagoon Cruise, which gives you a view over St. Mark’s Square from the water and sails past the famous islands and the Lido, Venice’s seaside resort and home of the International Film Festival. B
- Day 9 – Lake Garda Tour (optional). We will travel along the shores of this magnificent lake, visiting picturesque villages and small towns, including delightful Sirmione, enjoying a cruise across the lake. B
- Day 10 – Return flight from Milan. B
