Your Holiday Itinerary
9-Day Break
- Day 1 – We break up our journey with an overnight stay in Paris.
- Day 2 – We arrive in Calella, the coastal capital of the Costa del Maresme and stay for six nights. You can enjoy the resort and join our programme of interesting excursions. Calella boasts a myriad of restaurants, bars, shops and all you need for a relaxing break on this sun-kissed coast. B,D
- Day 3 – Costa Brava Coastal Tour (optional, included on Silver Service). First, to Tossa de Mar, a typical Catalan coastal town with narrow cobbled streets, medieval walls, fishermen's cottages, a 14th century church and plenty of bars! Below the town is a small cove and a golden beach. Then, it's onto Lloret de Mar, the liveliest resort on the Costa Brava, and finally Blanes, an historical town famous for its lace-making. B,D
- Day 4 – Barcelona (included). Enjoy the delightful relaxed atmosphere, particularly along Las Ramblas, with lively entertainment provided by mime artists and musicians. Our guided Barcelona sightseeing tour (optional) sees many of the city's famous sights, such as Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, a spectacular church begun in 1882 and still under construction, the impressive 1992 Olympic Stadium and finishing on the bustling Las Ramblas, where you have free time to explore the bars, cafés and shops. - Day 5 – Montserrat (optional). Known locally as the ‘serrated mountain’. We travel through the mountains to the site of the 9th-century Benedictine monastery. Its beautiful basilica and turbulent B,D
- Day 6 – Girona and Besalu (optional). Behind Girona’s charming colourful houses lining the River Onyar lies the Old Town, with its imposing Gothic cathedral, maze of narrow streets and ‘Rambla de la Libertat’. We then make our way to the charming medieval town of Besalu. B,D
- Day 7 – Catalan Country Tour (optional). We head to the cool of the wooded hills with our local guide, our first stop being the delightful spa town of Sant Hilari Sacalm, with its quaint narrow streets. Enjoy a delicious Catalan lunch, before returning to the coast. B,D
- Day 8 – We travel to our hotel in the outskirts of Paris for an overnight stay. B
- Day 9 – We journey to Calais, then return home. B
17-Day Break
For that extra bit of relaxation our 17-day holiday offers fourteen nights in Spain together with the same excursion programme as the 9-day holiday.
