  • Day 2 – We arrive in Calella for five nights. B,D
  • Day 3 – Costa Brava Coastal Tour (included) Stretching from Blanes to the French border, the Costa Brava is one of Spain's three great holiday coasts. We visit Tossa de Mar, a typical Catalan coastal town, Lloret de Mar, the busiest and liveliest resort on the coast, and Blanes, known for its lace. B,L,D
  • Day 4 – Barcelona (included). The vibrant Catalan capital is a modern, cosmopolitan city, and a wander through its charming streets will reveal stunning Modernist architecture and town squares. There's the chance to sample the delicious local cuisine in a traditional tapas bar, or to join our optional sightseeing tour, with English-speaking guide, which takes in the unique L'Eixample district, Gaudi's Sagrada Familia Cathedral, 1992's impressive Olympic Stadium, and 'Las Ramblas' pedestrianised street, lined with outdoor markets, shops, restaurants and cafés. B,L,D
  • Day 5 – Montserrat (optional). Amidst amazing scenery, the famous Montserrat monastery dates back to 1025, and attracts numerous pilgrims to 'La Moreneta', the famous 12th century black statue of the Virgin. On a clear day, the Pyrénèes, and even Mallorca, can be seen from the mountain. B,L,D
  • Day 6 – Girona (optional). The medieval 'city of a thousand sieges' is home to Catalan Romanesque structures and an imposing Gothic cathedral. Roman ruins abound, with the most impressive at the Passeig Arqueologic (Archeological Walk), that follows the original Roman rampart. B,L,D

Paul Mctiernan

It’s easy to forget that the Costa Brava has so much to offer. Glorious sandy beaches, the sea breezes little bays, the warmth of the sun, and, of course, the great bonus of Barcelona, which many (including me) consider one of the most enchanting cities on earth.
