9-Day Break

• Day 1 – Door-to-door pick up and then we travel to the Paris outskirts for an overnight stay.
• Day 2 – We arrive in Santa Susana and stay for six nights. B,D
• Day 3 – Costa Brava Coastal Tour (included). One of Spain's great holiday coasts, stretching from Blanes to the French border, this tour introduces Tossa de Mar, a typical coastal town, Lloret de Mar, the busiest and liveliest resort on the coast, and Blanes, renowned for its lace. B,D
• Day 4 – Barcelona (included) and Barcelona Sightseeing (optional). The vibrant Catalan capital offers a modern cosmopolitan city with a wealth of modernist architecture to explore and plenty of charming streets and town squares to wander along. There's also delicious local cuisine to sample in the traditional tapas bars. Our sightseeing tour (optional) with English-speaking guide, covers the modernist architecture in the L'Eixample district, Gaudi's unique Sagrada Familia church, and the impressive Olympic Stadium, ending at the bustling Las Ramblas. B,D
• Day 5 – Montserrat (included). This famous monastery dates back to 1025 and sits amidst spectacular scenery. Thousands visit the 12th century 'La Moreneta' statue of the black virgin every year. The Pyrénèes, Barcelona's Tibidabo, and Mallorca are all visible on a clear day. B,D
• Day 6 – Girona and Besalu (included). The medieval 'city of a thousand sieges' is home to many Catalan Romanesque structures and an imposing Gothic cathedral. The most impressive Roman ruins are at the Passeig Arqueologic (Archeological Walk), following the original Roman rampart. Later, we visit medieval Besalu, with its historic churches and intriguing little shops. B,D
• Day 7 – Catalan Country Tour (optional). We take to the Catalonian countryside, through wooded hills, with our local guide. We explore the quaint spa town of Sant Hilari Sacalm and its fascinating nature museum (entrance extra). We enjoy a delicious Catalan lunch before returning to the coast. B,D
• Day 8 – During our journey home, we spend a night in the Paris area. B
• Day 9 – We journey to Calais, then home via our door-to-door service. B
