8-Day Break

• Day 1 – Sit back for our express overnight journey to Austria (Silver Service includes an overnight stay in Belgium).
• Day 2 – We arrive in the Austrian Tirol in the morning for five nights (evening arrival on Silver Service). D
• Day 3 – Salzburg (included). One of the most beautiful destinations in Austria, the ‘Sound of Music’ city has something for everyone. Enchanting squares and medieval lanes give way to Gothic churches and quaint cafés. Mozart’s birthplace museum is a must! On our optional Salzburg Sightseeing Tour, your English-speaking guide will introduce you to the Baroque splendour of the cathedral, the might of the Hohensalzburg fortress and the quaint Getreidegasse, one of Austria’s most beautiful shopping streets. • Day 4 – Kufstein and Swarovski Crystal World (optional). To Kufstein, home to a major fortress, a jewel in the lower region of Tirol. Then on to Swarovski Crystal World at Wattens. Swarovski is considered by many to be the finest lead crystal made today. See the exhibition and perhaps treat yourself or buy some presents. B,D
• Day 5 – We travel along the scenic Ziller Valley Railway from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. We have lunch at a typical Austrian Inn, then head to the Rattenberg glass factory for a demonstration of glassblowing, glasscarving and painting. We also learn about candle-making at the Brixlegg factory. B,D
• Day 6 – Zell am See & Kitzbühel (optional, included on Silver Service). Stroll along the lakeside promenade of Lake Zell and enjoy the contrasting spectacular scenery of lakes and mountains. Later, visit the chic ski resort town of Kitzbühel. Stroll around the walled Old Town. Horse and Carriage Ride (optional). For something a little different, try a ‘Fiaker’, or ‘horse cab’ ride, through the Old Town of Kitzbühel. B,D
• Day 7 – There’s some free time in the Austrian Tirol before our express overnight journey home (Silver Service includes an overnight stay in Belgium and departs after breakfast). B
• Day 8 – Continue to Calais then return home. B
