  • Day 2 – Rhine Valley (included) & Rhine Cruise (optional). We visit the town of Boppard, where you can enjoy the splendid Rhine Promenade, then continue to Rüdesheim, home of the vibrant Drosselgasse, lined with restaurants, bars and shops. The Rhine is a delight meandering through its vine-clad gorge, busy with brightly coloured cruisers and barges and with Germany’s finest medieval castles on the hillsides making this a day to savour. For a different view of the river, why not take an optional cruise past ancient castles, picturesque villages and vine-clad slopes?   • Day 3 – Moselle Valley (included). The Moselle River is the longest and best-known tributary river of the Rhine, gently meandering between the hills of the Hunsrück and the Eifel regions. We drive to the charming wine town of Cochem, where the ancient and mighty Reichsburg Castle, perched atop its hillside overlooks the town.   • Day 4 – Journey to Calais, then home. B

Rhineland Wine Festivals

Experience a traditional German ‘Weinfest’, combining the best of local wine with traditional Rhineland fun-filled festivities – a real chance to party with the locals!

AUG 13 Departure – Rüdesheim. Soak up the atmosphere at the ‘5-star wine festival’ in the Rheingau wine district. The festivities are based around the romantic market square in the centre of Rüdesheim and the vibrant wine pubs of the ever-popular Drosselgasse.

Rhine in Flames Festivals

Explosions of fireworks light up the sky, while flotillas of boats illuminate the prettiest stretch of the River Rhine. Take part in this pyrotechnic extravaganza, enjoying the sparkling celebrations gracing the picturesque riverside!

SEP 11 Departure – Night of a Thousand Fires. A procession of boats cruise through the dramatic valley of the Loreley, from St. Goar to Oberwesel, through the narrowest and deepest point of the Rhine Gorge. The night sky is transformed into a sea of light, while spectacular fireworks ignite to music echoing between the steep cliffs.

SEP 18 Departure – The Loreley Night. Legend tells of a siren known as ‘Loreley’, whose beauty and haunting song so entranced the passing sailors that they would often crash onto the rocks and drown in the river. Perhaps the most romantic of all celebrations, enjoy the combination of fireworks and music as a flotilla of 50 boats sails to the famous Loreley Rock.
