    Free time or join our sightseeing tour. Porto is one of the oldest cities in Europe, its unspoilt old quarter in the historic centre, with its maze of winding narrow streets, arcaded houses and beautiful churches, has been awarded UNESCO world heritage status. Known for its famous port wine made from local grapes grown along the banks of the Douro, we visit a port wine cellar to taste the ‘precious nectar’. Tonight, we enjoy a Fado Themed Evening.

    Today, we offer an excursion to Guimaraes. This charming Portuguese town boasts winding cobbled streets, lined with bars and cafes, which lead to pretty squares. Return on board in Leverinho and sail to Régua, through fabulous scenery. We pass through the gigantic lock at Carrapatello.

    Join our excursion to Vila Real, which enjoys a spectacular location between the gorges of the Corgo and Cabril Rivers and is famed for the diversity of its religious architectural styles. Stroll through the beautiful gardens of Solar de Mateus before returning to the ship in Pinhao. The cruise continues into the heart of the most famous vineyards in Porto, past magnificent hills covered with vine trellises. Arrival in Vega de Teron. Evening of Flamenco entertainment.

    Join our excursion, as we travel by coach to Salamanca, awarded UNESCO world heritage status. This town of dazzling beauty houses some extraordinary Romanesque, Arab and Christian architectural treasures. Return to the ship in Barca d’Alva for dinner and an evening of entertainment.

    We spend the morning sailing. We stop in Ferradosa, where we offer you an excursion to visit the ‘Wines of Porto’, follow the road through the vineyards, stop at an overlook surrounded by vines and enjoy a tasting of wines of Porto. Return on board in Pinhão. Enjoy a free afternoon, exploring Pinhão at your own pace, with its splendid ‘azulejos’ (typical Portuguese tiles). Tonight is our Gala evening on board ship.

    Join our guided tour of Lamego and discover the Nossa Senhora dos Remedios sanctuary and the cathedral. Return on board in Régua. We spend the afternoon sailing back to Porto, through a number of large locks. Tonight we enjoy a traditional folklore-themed evening.

    Disembark this morning. Transfer to Porto airport for our return flight to the U.K.

    Yes, you will receive one with your Travel Documents, which are sent 7-10 days before departure.
    We believe that our holidays may not be suitable for children under 8 years old (except for Disneyland Paris bookings) however, we will consider individual requests on application. Customers aged 18 and under at the time of travel must be accompanied by an adult, parent or guardian aged over 18 years old.

    Accommodation

    You will spend seven nights aboard the 3-star plus ‘MS Infante d’Henrique’ of the CroisiEurope fleet. The vessel is air-conditioned and has three decks. Facilities include a restaurant, bar with dance floor, large Sun Deck and boutique. All cabins have shower and toilet, T.V., hairdryer, safe and radio.

    If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.

    No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.

    All hotel rooms benefit from private bathroom facilities.

    We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

    We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.

    We recommend you check-in for your flight three hours before the scheduled time for long hall flights and two and a half hours before the scheduled time for any European holidays.
