You are going to love this trip! We very reluctantly left this beautiful region of France to come home, what a super tour. I am running out of adjectives to describe how brilliant Leger holidays are!We made a good start with a pleasant crossing and onward journey to Paris for a very comfortable overnight stay.

The first day was a trip to Aix-en-Provence, a very attractive town which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. After a happy morning and nice lunch we boarded our coach for wine tasting, one of the wines offered was an old favourite of mine from long ago - Beaume de Venise, delightful and even better, we discovered it was on the drinks menu at the hotel, yay!

The next day found us at Pont du Gard, absolutely magnificent, what a wonderful tribute to all those long ago Roman engineers. On Chris’ (our coach driver) recommendation we walked up through the Garrigue, which comprised of three themes, agriculture, pastureland and forest.

Avignon was the realisation of a dream. I have long wanted to see the famous bridge and it was truly memorable to walk across it and visit the tiny chapel of St Benezet. We loved the little train ride around the town and afterwards treated ourselves to a scrumptious ‘picque-nique’ in the town square, a lovely day.

What can I say about Cassis? What a gorgeous place, just exquisite, we asked Chris to leave us there but she said we had to get back on the coach. We both fell completely in love with the resort and the violet ice-creams were delicious.

Nimes was a fascinating city and we made sure we saw the amazing arena, the temple and the lovely flower gardens.

On to Rocamadour which we had both been looking forward to seeing again. Next morning we took ourselves up to the top of the cliff to see the Chateau and climb the ramparts-spectacular views, very much worth the effort. We also wanted to see the famous grotto with the cave drawings, so after lunch we made our way to the entrance. It was just breath taking to see it all, it was all really atmospheric.

We were very sad to leave the next day, it was such a heavenly spot. Back to Paris with an excellent relief driver and then in the evening we had our night out in the Latin Quarter. We found an interesting little bistro and enjoyed a tasty dinner and after that we went to do a little bit of retail therapy-we had a ball.

Well done Leger and thank you for another superb trip. We have already sorted our Christmas choice and also next year’s summer tour. I hope if do this tour you will enjoy it as much as Mrs Osland and I have.
