Hi Jaqui
Sorry for the delay in replying after checking with our product team the reason that the itinerary on the website for day six (Schonbrunn Palace Gardens) says:
inside the Palace you'll learn all sorts of interesting facts about the Imperial family (entrance to the Palace not included), while you can continue to enjoy ... a relaxing stroll around the gardens
This has been added so that customers are made aware that they may see the palace but due to time constraints will not be able to have a look round. Hence no extra costs incurred on this excursion.
Have a great time...
Regards
Michael

| I have the same query. We're doing the 14 day Highlights of Europe tour in April. Although Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic are members of the EEC they have not joinbed the EURO community. Can anyone advise where is the best place to buy these local currencies for purposes of buying snacks lunches etc.

| There was plenty of time to look around inside Schonnbrun Palace. They do two tours, you can go with a guide at set times or walk around alone with an audio guide (very good). Outside, the grounds were not particularly appealing and my partner, who didn't want to come inside was bored. There was so much confusion about this trip that the drivers/tour leaders had to make several phone calls to Leger to find out what was happening.

| I am going on the Prague, Vienna and Budapest Singles Tour on the 8th September 2007 and I would like to confirm that you can definitely use Euros in all 3 countries as some internet research this weekend confirms they all have their own currencies. How much will I need do you think? Also, any other feedback on the tour would be helpful. eg what was the weather like, was it a good tour etc

Re Currencies: The cheapest way to get small amounts of local currencies is to us e your debit cards in the local hole in the wall getting £10-20 at a time. This way you dont have a lot of money to carry. you dont end up with endless amounts of local coins and small notes and provided you keep things separate if the worst happens and you lose yours purse wallet they dont get much??

| Hi We are going on the Highlights of Eastern Europe July 21st 2008. Has anybody got any advice about currencies. Can we use Euros in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic? It is very difficult to decide how much to take if individual currencies are needed. Did anyone go last year? Margaret

Hi Margaret
Hope this info helps; Euros can be used in each country however we recommend that in Russia you use dollars and exchange these to the official currency this being the rouble.
The coins are kopecks. There are 100 kopecks in one rouble.
There are exchange offices in most hotels who offer very favorable rates of exchange. You have to show your passport to exchange money. You can not use foreign currency in shops or restaurants.
Credit cards can be used in quite a few places but this is usually more well known / expensive places.
So in summary :-
WHICH currencies are needed for the Prague, Vienna and Budapest trip?
Euros
WHICH currencies are needed for the Grand Russian Spectacular trip?
Euros, Dollars, Danish Krone
Have a great time and don't hesitate to contact me if you need any more info and remember to share your holiday with others here on the forum when you return.
Thanks
Michael
