This is one of those holidays where you return home feeling totally rested and relaxed. The area around Lake Garda is very tranquil & peaceful. There is not a lot of traffic and people "promenade" along enjoying the magnificent views. We stayed in Torbole at the northern end of the lake in a hotel called Hotel Holiday. It was a family run hotel, very comfortable. The waiters put in a huge effort especially on the last night with their gala dinner. The hotel has a nice pool area and is about a 10 minute stroll from the lake. You can walk round the lake to Riva Del Garda in about 40 minutes and apart from the cyclists there is no other traffic. The views are stunning. You can easily catch the water taxis to the other resorts and Limone is a charming little resort. We went on the Venice trip and this was a must. We enjoyed the gondola ride and wandered off away from all the crowds around St Marks Square and managed to find some space & calm in which to relax & watch the world go by. Verona was also a good day out with lots of things to see especially the 1st century arena where they hold the opera festival. We did the wine tasting trip to a local vineyard and sampled their cheeses and wines and also purchased some good bargains. We would definitely go back to Lake Garda, the area is clean, unspoilt and truly relaxing.
Happy Travelling!

I visited Lake Garda at the end of August 2006, it was a fabulous holiday. I stayed at the Hotel Holiday in Torbole, the waiters were fantastic and made a real effort. The coach crew Tony and Bruce were great and really made the holiday. The visit to the vineyard was fun and was a nice way to get to know your fellow travellers. I loved Venice is it such a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Verona was also a highlight of the trip, with Juliets Balcony. The best part of the trip for me was the trip up to the Dolomites, myself and a few friends I'd made, caught the cable car up to the top, there was even snow up there. This trip is amazing, I would go back tomorrow.
Carpe Diem, Life's to short enjoy it while you can!
