I never imagined that snow could be so enchanting or that I would every pay to go and see some! There was snow everywhere and do you know what, everything kept moving! No cars grinding to a standstill, no kids off school even old people still doing their shopping! The snow looks whiter and crisper than over here and it was very cold. A sturdy pair of walking boots is a must and lots of layers of clothing. We went on all the excursions. The trip up the ski slop at Kitzbuhel was terrifying yet well worth it. The view and the sun at the top takes your breath away. The lake was frozen over at Zell Am See and we could walk on it or skate if brave enough. We did the train ride along the Ziller Valley followed by the horse & carriage ride through the woods. This is something I will never forget but you do need to wrap up very warm as you are sitting for about 45 minutes & it is freezing. The trip around Salzburg came to life with our guide "Maria." It snowed all day and it was great to see the Austrians in their long capes and the hats with the feathers in them. At the end of the day the hotel was very warm & welcoming and our faces would be glowing. I came home feeling fitter and enjoyed every minute of this holiday.
