| My wife and I are taking are first ever coaching holiday. We would welcome any advice and impressions of anyone who has taken this tour. We are going to the Sud Tirol on the 11th. August by Silver Service. We have previously flown on all our other holidays and just fancied a change and decided on trying a coaching holiday. Should anyone else be going there on this date why not get in touch? Look forward to any replies and advice we may get. Liam and Pam

| Hi ! Just Thought I'd Let You Know That In 2005, My Family And I Went On This Holiday [Italian Sud Tirol] And Found That It Was Amazing ! The Views Were Spectacular, It Was Our first Time To Italy, And I Fell In Love With The Place ! We Stayed In A Quiet Little Village Called St. Peter, And We Found A Lovely Church Just Down The Road ! The Hotels Were Fabulous, And Every Morning When We Woke Up And Looked Out Of The Window, We Were Greeted By The Most Gorgeous Sight Ever....The Italian Dolomite Mountain Range. It Was A Hot summer Week Too, And The Excursions Were Ace ! The Only Thing I Hated Was The Steinhaus Cablecar Ride Because They Are My Worst Nightmare !! I Am Scared Of Cable Cars ! But The Views Are Spectacular From there ! One Thing I Do Advise Is Take Plenty Of Cardigans Or Light Jackets Cause It does Get Windy, Also I Advise You Not To Sit On The Window Seat Or On Either Of The Four Front Seats If You Dont Like Heights As When You Take The Dolomite Tour...There Are Some Tight Turns And Some VERY High Roads! [My Poor Mum Hated Heights And Sat By The Window Seat Thinking The Drop Would Be On The Other Side! I, On The Other Hand, Sat On The Front Passenger Seats To Obtain An Amazing View And Some Slightly Hairy Moments On Corners!] Hope This Has Helped ! Anything Else, Don't Hesitate To Ask As I Travel With Leger 3 Times A Year, More If Possible !

| Hi PippaLouise Many thanks for your helpful and informative reply. It was certainly very useful. Like you we are staying in St. Peter and we are certainly looking forward to the excursions. This is our first ever coaching holiday and it will be different to anything else we have done. We have got seats 5 and 6 so going around the bends should be exciting if nothing else. We thought long and hard about which tour to take and hopefully will be taking more in the future. We are thinking of Eastern Europe next. You never know we may bump into each other sometime if you use Leger a lot. Anyway many thanks again. I have passed your advice about the cardigans and the Dolomites to friends of ours who have booked to go in the winter. Rather them than me as we prefer the sun. Liam and Pam

| In my enthusiasm I started a new topic on this very holiday before reading down and seeing that one had already been created - apologies! Please ignore the topic I created in error and continue with this one. The above posts were really useful to me. Does anyone have any more feedback on Gasthof Kordiler and the village it's located in? There isn't much on the internet about St Peter, but it looks gorgeous - is it a really tiny village, or are there other shops, bars, hotels etc? I understand the proprietor at Gasthof Kordiler, a lady called Trudy, is very nice. What kind of fare is served for the included dinners? Any info would be very useful - thanks.

Hi Dorienne
I have had a word with our Product Department and they have sent me the following reply to your post. Hope it helps and if you need any more assistance then please let us know:-
"I have just spoken with Trudy, the owners wife, a delightful lady.
The hotel is a traditional large chalet style hotel which has its own bakery for the bread etc and excels with its apfelstrudel and other local delicacies served as sweets. The food is good traditional south Tirolean fare, which is similar to Austrian food - good wholesome stuff a bit like “your mother used to make”.
The hotel itself is well looked after with lots of traditional and often antique furniture and the bedrooms all have showers. In keeping with the ambience of a period building, the rooms do not have TV. Downstairs the restaurant and bar are very what the German speaking countries call “gemuetlich” – difficult word to translate – but basically extremely cosy, warm, and hospitable with well made wood furnishings in Tirolean style.
In my opinion there are not many of these extremely friendly traditional hotels left, family run and extremely well kept with a welcoming atmosphere all of their own.
Location wise the hotel is situated between the villages of St Jakob and St Peter the former being 20 mins away on foot and the latter 10 mins away. There is a Spar shop about 100 metres from the hotel. There is also a local bus every 25 mins connecting the villages of the valley."
Best regards
Michael

| Hi dorienne I know you have had replies regarding the hotel and village but I went on the holiday to this hotel a few years ago on the walking holiday. We visited Venice, which you mustn't miss, but the rest of the week week we were taken up into the surrounding countryside on planned walks. The holiday was fantastic and if you are not too exausted in the evenings after you have been out all day just take yourself off up the hill sides..........it is fantastic, breathtaking views........I will have to go back one day. Hope you have a great holiday, will look forward to your feedback. Troi
