Hi,

I have just booked to go on the above trip, leaving on 16/08/08. This is my first time to Italy and on this type of holiday. I would love to hear from anybody else going on the trip. If anybody has done this tour before and wants to pass on their thoughts or some tips then I will be very pleased to hear from you.

I have not been on this trip, but have been to Italy many times.  It is a beautiful country, and Sorrento and the surrounding area are spectacular.  The trip to Capri is well worthwhile - it is very commercialised in parts but the views are wonderful.

You will really enjoy yourself - it would be great to hear your comments after the trip.

Regards,

Lin.

Ashton,

You've picked a great tour, I did it last May and weather was good so it was tremendous.

Don't be put off by the travelling to Sorrento, yes, its a long way and some of the days are long (800km - 500mls) but sit back enjoy the scenery, drinks on the coach and the company of your fellow passengers.

Hotels are good clean and comfortable. I had no problems with the food and the Hotel Mary is a nice family run hotel with loads of good food.

All the trips are fantastic, so if you can afford to do all I would, but certaintly the Capri and Amalfi drive trips were the best, but don't forget Pompeii or Vesuvius, the latter is quite a strenuous walk though to the top (30 mins).

Really is a fantastic holiday, maybe a bit more time required in Pisa and Rome... but don't know what you'd leave out.

Just sit back and enjoy yourself... just to let you know I and my girlfriend, who I met on my last Leger trip are trying to do this trip again this coming September if everything goes to plan work wise.

Ashton,

Forgot to say,

Hope you like Pasta dishes because its so good in Hotel Mary, but don't worry they have english alternatives.

Do try the Lemoncellio, but watch it its strong, I was told about 35% alcohol, after downing three shots - the drivers refused and passed on theirs!!

And if you like ice cream you'll be in heaven.

If you buy anything, try bartering, I did much to disgust of some of other passengers, and saved a few euros at a time on gifts, etc. - didn't work on Capri!

Hi Stevec, Lin and Troi,

thanks for replying and sorry about the delay in acknowledging. It certainly sounds like a great trip and the info is really useful. All the excursions sound brilliant and I guess the Isle of Capri is a must do.

Can't wait for the summer!

Thanks

Ashton
