Piemonte Share Festival

Where: Accademia di Belle Arti

Held at the Accademia di Belle Arti and other venues around the city of Turin, the Share Festival focuses on the fast-evolving world of digital technology. The festival promotes creativity and cultural exchange by involving the public in activities such as interactive installations, live music sessions, seminars and workshops.
Parklife
When: Apr 2008 (annual)
Where: Fiera di Roma
Cost: Free
Opening Hours: 10am-8pm
Parklife is a four-day festival held at the Fiera di Roma and dedicated to environmental culture. Supported by WWF, the initiative features exhibitions, installations, workshops, cinema and music events, promoting protected areas and natural parks in Italy and on the Mediterranean.
Chianti Wine Festival
When: Jun 2008 (annual)
Where: Montespertoli
Cost: Free
Every year the small Tuscan village of Montespertoli is swamped with people coming to sample the year's vintage at the Chianti Wine Festival. There are tastings in the village's main square (Piazza San Pietro in Mercato), food stands and music. Perfect for a lazy afternoon.
World Fireworks Championship
When: Aug 2008 (annual)
Where: Lake Orta

Opening Hours: 9.30pm
More than 100,000 people are expected to make their way to Lake Orta in northern Italy for the World Fireworks Championship. The world's finest pyrotechnicians paint the night sky with momentary works of art.
Autumn Festival
When: Oct 2008 (annual)
Where: Abbadia San Salvatore
Cost: Free
Opening Hours: All day
Local cooks compete to create the finest Tuscan dishes at this Autumn Festival, held in the main square of the medieval town of Abbadia San Salvatore. Lucky visitors get to taste the local chestnut and mushroom delicacies.
