Lille, Ypres, Bruges & Brussels Christmas Markets

What our previous travellers have to say about this tour

"Leger ticked all the boxes with this trip. The tour bus was festooned with Christmas lights and had a "Magic Grotto" at the rear, to get everyone in the mood."

"On our way back from a Leger Battlefield Tour in Belgium last year we got chatting to another couple who recommended the "Christmas Markets". They said they were superb, great value and fun. We know Leger do great tours and really look after you, so we thought we'd try one.

We stayed at the Novotel in Ypres, just minutes from the town centre. It was clean comfortable, quiet and so close to the shops and bars.

The Christmas Market in Ypres was small, yet magical, and packed with seasonal gifts and sumptuous food and drink. With the beautiful lights and the gothic back drop of the Cloth Hall and the Cathedral, Ypres was a lovely place to stay, with a good choice of places to eat and drink. The Menin Gate Ceremony was very thought provoking and is a "must" for British visitors, now being 100 years since our Service Men fought and died in WW1.

Lille was an outstanding day out. The Market was vibrant and the choice of gifts, food and drink was very diverse indeed. It was freezing cold weather and the "gluhwein" certainly helped warm us up. The town was very busy and pretty, a great place to shop. You can't visit Lille without going on the Lille Wheel, what a great way to view such a beautiful place...From above!
Where else would you find Christmas Trees on a beach front - Ostend! Again, another beautiful place with lots of shops. I wish the North Sea looked as good from this side.

Following Ostend we had to endure the beauty of Bruges, it was difficult but we managed it. Our superb coach tour crew Paul & Anthea dropped us off 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The walk through the old cobbled streets is just amazing. Add to that, Christmas lights, gothic architecture, lots of market stalls, canals, and even more Gluhwein and you have another great visit.

Leger ticked all the boxes with this trip. The tour bus was festooned with Christmas lights and had a "Magic Grotto" at the rear, to get everyone in the mood. We arrived in Belgium ahead of schedule, the Hotel was fantastic, the trips to the markets were very enjoyable and the tour crew, Paul and Anthea could not do enough for us all. They went "above and beyond" for a full 4 days. This was a great tour and comes highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much we've booked another one for this year.
