World War 1

We are now entering the final

year of the WW1 Centenary and

will be focussing on the

importance of 1918, from the

Kaiser’s Battle to the final

Advance to Victory,

as well as commemorative

events for the centenary of the

Armistice. We also bring back

our popular

Western Front End to

tour, where we travel all 450

miles of frontline, and our ever-

All Quiet on the Western

tour remains the best

battlefield tour to start with if

you are wanting to understand

more about WW1. For 2018 we

also have new walks on the

Somme; an excellent way to see

the ground. Looking ahead to

2019, we will be introducing new

tours to cover the legacy and

aftermath of the World War 1, as

Remembrance must not stop

with the end of the centenary.

World War 2

For 2018 we have several new

WW2 tours, including one looking

at the war in Luxembourg and

following the story of General

George S. Patton: one of the

most iconic commanders of the

conflict. We continue to visit all

the key World War 2 battlefields

in Europe, from D-Day to

Germany, and beyond, with new

air tours to Munich and the

Eagle’s Nest, Downfall in Berlin

and also Anzio and Monte

Cassino. Whether you enjoy

seeing WW2 megastructures or

bunkers, want to follow the Rise

and Fall of Nazi Germany,

or look at tank warfare and see

WW2 armour, we have a broad

range of tours to interest the

WW2 enthusiast and those

wanting to learn more.

Remembering the

We must never forget the

Holocaust and that dark chapter

of WW2 history. Understand it

more on our longer tour travelling

across Holocaust sites in Europe

or join our popular 5-day fly tour

to Poland, where you can visit

Auschwitz and Kraków.

In 2015 Holts Tours became part of the Leger family. With almost 40

years’ experience in operating Battlefield and History tours and more

than 25 years in running School Travel, Holts Tours prides itself in

being the specialist in educational travel and the leading history and

battlefield tours company.

The Somme Battlefields

Working with Holts Tours, we

offer educational school visits,

trips and tours for school student

groups, in Europe, around the UK

and overseas. Our range of trips

covers art, culture, geography,

science and language tours as

well as battlefields and history.

All school tours can be tailor-

made to suit the needs of your

pupils, parents and school. Some

schools like to combine an art or

cultural trip with leisure time,

while on history and battlefield

tours, some schools prefer to

visit a specific grave or war

cemetery and lay a wreath. Let us

know your requirements and we

can build them into the itinerary.
