D-Day Landings in Normandy

The landings on the Normandy coastline on 6th June 1944 were the turning point of the Second World War in the west. Few other events of WWII have captivated public interest so much, and D-Day remains an inspiring and moving story over 70 years later.

Your Accommodation

You will stay for three or four nights at either the 2-star Kyriad Caen Sud-Ifs or the 2-star Hotel Carline Caen Nord, both situated on the outskirts of Caen. Both hotels have a bar and restaurant, and the Hotel Carline has a lift. The Kyriad has no lift, but rooms are only on two floors.

Due to demand, other hotels of a similar standard may be used.

Upgrade to 4-star hotel in Caen Mercure Caen Centre Port De Plaisance (Tour Ref 4FDNH & 5FDNHV) - The hotel is situated in the heart of the historic town, only a short walk from the Tour Leroy and Abbaye aux Dames. Facilities include a relaxing lounge bar and restaurant.

FAQ's about accommodation

If you prefer, then you can join the tour at the hotel. To do this, we will require a copy of your passport for identification purposes and you must advise us at the time of booking.

No reduction will be given if you should choose to do this.

Your hotels will supply towels in your room.

We are unable to guarantee that the hotel will be able to meet your dietary requirements. We find that the majority of European countries do not generally cater for vegetarians and that the meal supplied may well be what everyone else is having minus the meat.

We will of course endeavour to arrange for a vegetarian meal at the hotel. We do however suggest that you advise us of your dietary requests at the time of booking and recommend that you speak to the receptionist on arrival with regard to your request.
