What our previous travellers have to say about this tour

"We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the holiday and were amazed at what you managed to pack into the nine days."

"We have just returned from your Little Trains of Austria holiday and would like to complement you on the organisation of this holiday.

Our drivers were a wonderful husband and wife team, who looked after us magnificently and made the whole holiday a wonderful experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the holiday and were amazed at what you managed to pack into the nine days.

Our drivers did their utmost to arrange activities for the evenings, such as quizzes, and were always there to wave you off and welcome you back.

We will most definitely look forward to next year’s brochure and hopefully find another holiday that we will enjoy as much as this one.

"We would say that it is a holiday for everyone."

"From the moment we met John and Tony, our drivers for this holiday, they went out of their way to make us feel relaxed and to treat each one of us as individuals. There was nothing that they would not do for us, keeping us entertained with little stories, providing refreshments, and also on board entertainment to cater for all tastes.

On the way out we stayed at the Van de Valk Brussels for our overnight stop. The guys know that they are slow to get the room keys sorted out, so made sure that they distributed them all to us. Whilst John was handing out the keys, Tony was getting the cases off the coach, so that we could be in our rooms asap.

Our main stay was at the Hotel Sonnschein, Neiderau. This was a larger hotel than we’d normally stay at, but you were still made to feel very welcome and they catered to all of your needs. It is run by Jill, a Brummie lady. There was a pool, which we didn't get time to use as we were so busy with other things.

On our return journey, we stayed at the Novotel. This was a great hotel with a breakfast that catered for everyone that you could think of.

We took all of the optional excursions that were available to us, even including the horse and cart ride around Neiderau one afternoon. This holiday is the ideal way to see so much of this area of Austria, from the valley with their rivers and wildlife, up to the high mountains where you can see the snow on the mountain tops. Each day, was a completely different train journey to the one on the previous days. From steam trains to a Rack & Pinion train pushing you up through the scenic Alpenstrasse to Lake Achensee. When we stopped at Innsbruck, whilst some went on a tour of the City, we took a ride in a Horse and Cart. That really was the way to see the city.

To sum up this holiday, we would say that it is a holiday for everyone young and old and also the ones not too nimble on their feet and we never got bored with too many train rides.
Until we travel with you again.

"The Little Trains tour was our second holiday with Leger, the opportunity to travel on the little trains and experience the history of the area, plus being able to see parts of the country you would never get to see way was too good to miss. For me the clue is in the title ‘Spectacular’.

We decided to join all the tours for a total immersion of the Austrian experience.
Our first visit was to the Ziller valley, to travel the famous Zillertal, departing from Fugen.
The railway follows the valley and the views are stunning. Travelling through the middle of villages, at one point with feet of a farmer cutting hay! Having left the train behind we travelled to Mayrhofen, which is compact and friendly. I visited the Parish church which was beautifully kept and has some stunning modern and traditional stained glass windows.

Silver service is the way to travel, a modern coach with all comfort you could wish for.
Stop 24 has to be experienced, the transfer of luggage was completed at such a blistering pace, it seemed like we had barely sat down before we were called to board our tour coach.

Our biggest asset was our drivers Will and James, who looked after us all like family, nothing was too much trouble. From planning comfort breaks and joining us in the many planned activities, to providing refreshments and commentary on points of interest. Their knowledge of the villages and local history was very impressive which was mixed with humorous anecdotes, resulting in lots laughter.

One of the more memorable evenings was when they dressed in traditional Lederhosen for a Tyrolean evening.
