- Day 1 – U.K. To Cape Town Overnight flight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg with South African Airways. D*
- Day 2 – Cape Town We arrive this morning at Cape Town airport where we are met and taken on a short city orientation tour. Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities overlooked by the majestic Table Mountain. We take the cable car up to the top (weather permitting) to enjoy the stunning views of
the bay and the city. This afternoon check into our hotel for four nights and spend the remainder of the
day relaxing or maybe exploring more of your new surroundings. B*
- Day 3-5 – Cape Town Your time is your own to discover and explore this amazing area and city.
To make the most of your stay, why not take one of our optional excursions or simply enjoy exploring by yourself. Cape Town is a sightseer’s dream, with so much to see and do. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront area is a must for every visitor, with its shops and restaurants, bars, cafés and market. Perhaps take a boat trip from here to Robben Island and see the prison, which held Nelson Mandela during the Apartheid era. A truly amazing experience. Bx3
- Day 6 – Stellenbosch & The Winelands We depart Cape Town by coach and head to Stellenbosch in the
scenic Cape Wine lands, where you will visit the Stellenbosch Museum. This ‘Heart of Cape Heritage and Hospitality’ is a gracious blend of old Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture and home to the world-renown Stellenbosch University. Winetasting will be enjoyed en route at one of the many world-class wineries. We continue along Route 62 which connects the hinterland of South Africa with Cape Town, and is spectacular as far as scenery is concerned, to Worcester and Robertson. Our end
destination for today is Montagu, a peaceful town steeped in history and famous for its awe-inspiring rock
formations, orchards, vineyards, local herbs and healing hot mineral springs. Overnight in Montagu. B
- Day 7 – Montagu – Oudtshoorn After breakfast we travel to Oudtshoorn, the centre of the world’s Ostrich farming. En route we stop off in the town of Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers, spending time with them in the classroom
learning more about the local farming community. Continue to Oudtshoorn where you’ll visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour and lunch, before taking a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. B,L
- Day 8 – Oudtshoorn – Knysna After breakfast we travel over the scenic Outeniqua Pass to George, the
administrative hub of the Garden Route area, and then onto Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Enjoy a lagoon cruise
to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch under the milkwood trees. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon. Overnight in Knysna. B,L
- Day 9 – Knysna After a leisurely breakfast we drive through Nature’s Valley and the Tsitsikamma
Forests, to explore this breathtaking stretch of the Garden Route, where mountains, indigenous forests, deep gorges and lush vegetation hug the rugged coastline of cliffs and sandy beaches. Here is an abundance of indigenous flora, ancient yellowwood trees and magnificent fynbos plants. In the afternoon we return to Knysna, via Plettenberg Bay, originally christened ‘Bahia Formosa’ (beautiful bay) by early
Portuguese explorers. The highlight of the area is undoubtedly the rivers, beaches, and bay. Overnight in Knysna. B
- Day 10 – Knysna - Hermanus Today, we travel via George and Mossel Bay to the picturesque Cape Dutch town of Swellendam, where we stop for lunch (not included). This charming town was founded in 1745 at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain Range and is famous for its youngberries, eclectic architecture and National Parks, as well as outdoor activities. Our journey further continues to the seaside resort of Hermanus, known as the heart of the whale route, offering the best land based whale watching in the world (Aug-Nov). Overnight in Hermanus. B
- Day 11 – Knysna – Cape Town After a leisurely breakfast, depart Hermanus and continue to Cape Town,
travelling via the scenic coastal road to Gordon's Bay. This is a spectacular route with steep cliffs and lovely coves. Locals label it as the Helderberg areas own ‘Chapman's Peak’ drive and the route offers amazing views over False Bay, right up to Table Mountain and Cape Point. Visit a Wine Estate for a Winetasting at Spier. We continue to Cape Town airport for our return flight to London. B,D*
- Day 12 – Home Arrive this morning at London Heathrow airport. B*

Optional Excursions
- Cape Peninsula Tour (Full Day) £56 A fascinating tour awaits us as we take in the highlights of the Cape Peninsula, travelling out as far as Cape Point, the majestic meeting place of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, described by Sir Francis Drake as’ the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the globe’. En route to The Cape our first stop will be at Hout Bay, a lively coastal fishing town, before travelling along Chapman’s Peak drive (if open) to the rugged Cape Point. We continue to The Cape of Good Hope before travelling back along the east coast of the peninsula to view the Jackass Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach and to Simon’s Town, once a Royal Navy base and now home to the South African Navy.
- Cultural Tour (Half Day) £34 Our first call is the colourful Bo-Kaap. Next the tour heads to Langa, the oldest existing formal township in the Western Cape. We will also visit Gugulethu Township, and Khayelitsha, the largest informal settlement (shacks) where we will go to a ‘shebeen’ (pub) to meet and
interact with the local community. The Sunday morning tour includes a visit to a church service in Langa.
- Wildlife Safari Tour (Full Day) £175 An early departure at 5.30 am to travel to The Aquila private game reserve. Where we enjoy a light breakfast on arrival. Then it’s time for an open vehicle game drive
with your chance to view giraffe, lion, leopard, zebra, rhino, wildebeest and many other wildlife types plus San Bushman rock art. Lunch is included.
