4-Day Break
- Day 1 – Local departure by coach, then onwards to the Paris area for three nights.
- Day 2 – ‘Les Journees des Plantes’ (included). We spend a day at Les Journées des Plantes. Held at the Parc du Domaine Courson, the superb location adds to the overall atmosphere, as you stroll through
the beautiful grounds of the château. Exhibitors from around Europe sell unusual plants and workshops are held in both French and English. This is a very special garden event with unusual nursery displays and exhibits. Whilst regarded, as France’s Chelsea, the two shows should not really be compared as Courson provides a smaller, more relaxed and intimate environment. B
- Day 3 – Monet’s Garden (included). We visit Giverny in Normandy and the home of Claude Monet – the artist lived here from 1883 until his death in 1926. The house and gardens, made famous by his ‘Water Lilies’ paintings, have been restored to Monet’s original designs. Planned out meticulously so that a different colour would dominate every month, the beautiful shades and shapes ensure the gardens are a delight at any time of the year. We return for the afternoon and part of the evening in Paris. See the world-famous sights of the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées and the Place de la Concorde. B
- Day 4 – Travel to Calais, then return home. B
